Compress PDF
Add a PDF and your browser re-saves the photos and scanned images in it to reduce the file size, then shows the size before and after. Your file is not uploaded to a server. The reduction depends on the file, and files with few images barely shrink.

Frequently asked questions
Does compressing a PDF lower the quality?
Text, lines and fonts are not touched, so they stay as they are. Only the photos and scanned images inside the PDF are shrunk and re-saved, so higher compression levels can make images blurrier. The strongest level shrinks images to 1100 pixels on the long side and saves them at 50% JPEG quality. If the result would be larger than the original, the original is kept.
