How to check that your files are not uploaded
Your PDF files and the results are not uploaded to a server. You don't have to take our word for it: here is how to check in your own browser.
What setting is in place?
- The tools run in an isolated frame (iframe) inside the page. The drop area and the download button are both inside this frame.
- That frame runs under a browser security setting (CSP
connect-src 'none') that blocks network requests. Browser extensions you have installed are separate from this setting. - The frame is opened as a sandbox with no origin (
sandbox), so scripts on the outer page, including ads and statistics, cannot reach the files inside it.
How to check (Chrome or Edge on a computer)
- Open a tool page, for example PDF to Excel.
- Press F12 to open the developer tools and choose the Network tab.
- Click the 🚫 (Clear) icon to empty the list.
- Add a PDF to the tool, convert it and download the result.
- Look through the Network list. There should be no request that sends data the size of your PDF (an upload).
What is normal to see?
- While converting, the tool frame makes no requests to the internet. Entries starting with
blob:are the result files created inside your browser; they are not internet requests. - You may see ad and statistics requests. This site collects visit information (such as cookies) on the outer page for ads and statistics. These requests happen when you open or stay on the page, and they do not contain the contents of your PDF. See the Privacy Policy for details.
